Senior Journalist Endy Bayuni Becomes Facebook Board of Trustees

Facebook’s social media platform forms the Facebook Supervisory Board whose job is to oversee the content on the friendship social media pages.

One senior Indonesian journalist, Endy Bayuni has been appointed as the only member of the Facebook Oversight Board from Indonesia.

Quoted from the oversightboard.com page, Endy Bayuni is a Senior Editor, former Chief Editor and Board Member at The Jakarta Post. Endy actively writes about national politics, international relations, Islamic politics and the media landscape.

His work in the world of journalism itself has been running for 37 years, including the beginning of his career when he was a correspondent at Reuters.

From the release received by CNNIndonesia.com, the Supervisory Board consists of independent members from all over the world. They will make final and binding decisions regarding content that must be removed or allowed on Facebook and Instagram.

The decision taken was also based on the principle of freedom of expression and human rights.

CNNIndonesia.com has tried to contact Endy Bayuni to conduct an interview regarding the position he just received as Facebook’s Board of Trustees, but has not received a response.
